HTC sold 9.3 million phones in previous quarter

Leading IT research and advisory company Gartner has revealed findings of its survey of worldwide sales of mobile phones. According to the detailed report published, HTC sold a little over 9.3 million mobile phones in the previous quarter.HTC ranked 8th among leading mobile phone manufacturers of the world based on number of units sold. The Taiwanese company secured a 2.2% overall market-share for the April-June quarter of year 2012
Taiwan’s national news agency wrote:
" These figures were improvements on the 7.7 million units sold and the 1.8 percent market share captured by HTC in the first quarter, when it had the 10th highest share among mobile phone vendors."
In terms of Mobile Operating System market-share, Android managed to capture 64.1% and has a clear lead over runner up iOS with 18.8% share.
